ibera marshlands national park

Experience Details
The Iberá wetlands are also a true paradise for sport fishing, particularly for the golden dorado, considered one of South America's most thrilling game fish. Known for its power, spectacular leaps, and vibrant golden color, the dorado thrives in the area’s clean waters, rich food sources, and pristine natural conditions.
Thanks to the strict oversight of environmental authorities and the enforcement of local regulations, fishing pressure in the region is remarkably low. This ensures not only the preservation of the ecosystem but also the consistent presence of dorado in all sizes — from young specimens to prized trophies over 10 kilograms.
All of this is part of a sustainable tourism approach, centered on catch and release — a practice that emphasizes respect for nature and its long-term conservation.
The Iberá National Park, located in the province of Corrientes in northeastern Argentina, is one of South America's greatest natural treasures. It encompasses an extensive system of marshes, lagoons, shallow channels, and floodplains that form the vast Iberá wetland ecosystem.
This diversity of environments — shallow waters, floating vegetation islands, forests, and flooded grasslands — gives the region extraordinary ecological significance and an impressive abundance of wildlife.
